Tim Casey, Vice President of Federal Affairs, coordinates the firm's daily advocacy efforts and works closely with Members of Congress and their staff across a wide-array of issues in pursuit of client goals. Tim joined the Wheat GR staff in 2008 and was promoted to Vice President of Federal Affairs in 2010.
As a former Legislative Assistant to Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) and Congressman John Tierney (D-MA), Tim brings valuable experience from both legislative bodies, where he managed portfolios on a number of critical issues including health care, labor, pensions, banking, homeland security, veterans' affairs, judiciary and education. |
During his time in the House of Representatives, Tim gained considerable experience in his capacity as an aide to Congressman Tierney on the Education and Labor Committee and the Subcommittee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. Tim worked closely with Committee staff during his tenure to address issues concerning retirement, pensions, worker safety, health care, building a competitive workforce, education, wages, and discrimination.
His understanding of the inner workings of an active Committee and knowledge of procedure serves as a key asset to Wheat Government Relations.
In the Senate, Tim served as an aide to Senator Carper, where he learned, first hand, the value and effectiveness of working across party lines to produce practical solutions. In his legislative role, Tim applied these values to a portfolio that included health, education, government affairs, labor, banking, judiciary, housing, Social Security, and Medicare/Medicaid.
In addition, Tim brings the perspective of working as a staffer in both the Minority and Majority, equipping him with an essential understanding of approach and procedure from which to draw in his efforts with Wheat Government Relations.
