Julie Pawleczyk, Senior Consultant to Wheat Government Relations, has 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C. as a federal relations advocate, working with Congress and federal agencies on behalf of clients primarily in the fields of health and education.  Prior to joining the team at Wheat Government Relations, Ms. Pawelczyk headed her own consulting firm, focusing her efforts on developing grassroots organization and federal strategies for patient advocacy networks and child abuse prevention programs.  She has a successful track record in working with newly established nonprofits to cultivate and implement targeted support within Congress and among Federal agencies, matching the programs and services of the client with a national need.

In the course of her career, Ms. Pawelczyk has represented a variety of public and private colleges and universities, elementary education research laboratories, academic medical centers, hospitals, historical societies, performing arts centers and a metropolitan zoo.  Her legislative expertise includes elementary and secondary education, Higher Education Reauthorization and various science reauthorization bills, in addition to budget and appropriations for various initiatives, including educational outreach and academic research programs.

She began her career as a staff assistant for Illinois Congressman Jack Davis before moving to the private sector as an aide in the Princeton University office of Government Affairs.  Ms. Pawelczyk has subsequently worked at in the government relations practices within two Washington DC law firms, before moving on to serve respectively as an Associate and Vice President and two separate lobbying firms.
In her past work roles, Ms. Pawleczyk has managed coalitions of academic medical centers and coordinated a national initiative in support of graduate medical education funding to benefit children’s hospitals.  In addition to her advocacy work, she continues her involvement in local and national Democratic campaigns. 

Ms. Pawelczyk received a Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Social and Public Policy, from Georgetown University, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Illinois in Champaign. Ms. Pawelczyk hails from Chicago and is a resident of Washington, D.C. Julie received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Journalism, and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in social and public policy, from Georgetown University.

Some of Julie¹s current clients include the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Darkness to Light (preventing child sexual abuse), and Everyone Counts.

Julie was raised in Chicago, Illinois and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
